Question to answer: According to Ishmael can we save the world? and according to you?
Ishmeal is a gorilla and he was saying how us humans mess up the world and we can do many things to save the world but we dont. and how we take advantage of alot of things we have and abuse the chances and things we have like electricity and recyles and how we are messing the world in many ways and how we are slefish and dont do anything about it and keep doing it.
in my perpective i know we are doing a damage in this world but nobody stops it. i feel like if it was suck a big deal they would stop selling like hairsprays so we wouldnt mess up the ozone layer. and they would make recycleing a ust and they dont. yes some people are going green but more people need to go green if they want to help out. i know for a fact my telivision i leave over night which i shouldnt be doing like ishmael says we are wasting so much stuff.

Quote: " But after our look at chapters three and four of genesis, you see there was a great deal more to it than mother culture.
Question: is the bible more important than mother culture?
Comment: yes of course the bible is more important than mother culture in my behalf because i believe in god but however on the other half maybe a person who doesnt believe in it wouldnt think its important. the first chapters of genesis shows what god created first .

Quote: The past is something to be put behind us, something to escape from.
Question: How can you put the past behind yourself and escape from it ?
Comment: this quote strikes me beacuse this quote reminds me of me. i use this quote alot in my everyday life. not only does it make sense but i feel that instead of being tied up in your past you should worry about your future and escape from your past. if mother culture had not created a future how would life be? thats why you have a future to forget about your past and start again.

Quote: "The world was made for man."
Question: was the world really made for man?
Comment: Was the world really made for man or was it made for animals? this quote made me realize and stop and think do humans really make a difference and are we really needed? imagine world without us it would just be animals. we are the reasons why animals are going instinct. Why? why do i say that i say that because i feel like we are taking animals or many species homes away and making our homes. and without humans we would need to worry about animals being instinct as well as we are eating them & hunting. But at the same time in the bible on the first chapter it says how god created the earth first. and since adm and eve where the first people alive . god had created the world for man.

Quote: " As everyone knows eyes speak"
Question: my question is how do eyes speak is this a personification?
Comment: i think this means that even though what you see is what you think and your eyes can tell many things around. eyes are what you can see and acknowledge to learn different things. many people learn visually. this quote strikes me because it makes me realize of telling a story in many different ways using personification.

Facing the Revolution in Cuba
About fifty one years ago there was a revolution that changed many peoples life’s in many ways. This revolution was called the Cuban Revolution that was lead by Fulgencio Batista who was a very powerful man. This revolution caused many families to not feel comfortable leaving their kids out in the streets or even go to school. However, they tried solving the problem by sending their kids away from Cuba to start a new life. Many families were in the struggle because they didn’t have the money for the whole family or they didn’t have the exiting passport. David Oviedo a fourteen year old boy who is one of the three main characters in the book “From Amigos to Friends” deals with leaving his family, friends and his home town Havana, Cuba. David settles in a Catholic program in Florida where kids also are away from their parents. Life changes for David because his English wasn’t the best and having to meet new people. “From Amigos to Friends, Pete Pelayo shows that many Cuban families were affected by the Cuban revolution.
The revolution started in 1958; Fulgencio Batista brought the country into corruption and into and harsh repression of dissent (Cuban Revolution).Fidel Castro a lawyer was one of the best organized of a number of anti- Batista forces. He contributed a successful guerilla campaign to support Cuba and abroad. The coalition of opposition forces eventually induce Batista to flee the country (Cuban Revolution) “Castro became, by far, the longest running individual head of state in twentieth century history and though increasingly frail, continues to hold power in Cuba even at this century's beginning” (Castro's Cuba, 1958) Cubans gained much from the revolution in terms of social provision (health, education), their political rights. (Castro's Cuba, 1958). With Castro trying to put Cuba back in place many Cubans were satisfied with the new the work that Castro was doing. For example Castro was putting the political economic and social structure into place which was what the Cuban families wanted. Even though it took years for the country to settle, more than one million families left the country to settle in Miami Florida because the revolution ruined many families every day lives.
Many Cuban families were affected in many ways for example they couldn’t leave their house feeling that they are safe because the soldiers will accuse you for anything and search you house without even asking. They wouldn’t feel comfortable even letting their kids going to school because parents feel that they would put their kids into the revolution. With the fact that the revolution was taking place many families didn’t want their kids going to school and wanting them to leave Cuba as soon as possible. But it wasn’t that easy because many families either didn’t have money or could pay the money for their exiting passports. The money issue was a big problem as well because of the fact that Cuba was being corrupted. The families couldn’t do anything because it was like a war but keep their kids home and wait and see if they could leave. This revolution many families prayed it would stop because it was ruining family’s everyday lives.
The three boys David, Carlos, and Luis were best friends. David Oviedo a fourteen year old boy who dealt with leaving Cuba. Not only leaving Cuba was a struggle but leaving his mom, dad, little brother, two best friends Carlos and Luis and his soon to be girlfriend. A fourteen year old still is in need of his family but had no choice. As he was sent to a Catholic Organization in Miami, Florida he went through meeting many different people. David’s parents were not able to leave from the fact that they didn’t have the exiting papers. Carlos Fernandez on the other hand is more of a ladies chick he is always doing crazy stuff. Carlos was a rich fourteen year old. As well as David he left Cuba, but with the company of with his mom and sister. The week that Carlos arrived in Florida David’s parents was also on the way there but there was no more room so they postponed their trip. David was really sad and his parents wrote” We where taken off the airport last minute without an explanation” (From Amigos to friends) David would write to his friends every week and when David found out Carlos was going to Florida to he heard the bad news. Luis Rodriquez was as well a fourteen year old boy who felt very sad and depressed because all his best friends were going to be sent out of Cuba. From the fact of his dad was fore the whole Batista revolution they wouldn’t let him leave Havana. He was so depressed he jumped down face first of the bottle him and his best friends used to go on and died. Although all three boys were not united and together they promised that they would be best friends for life they were like brothers.
In conclusion, the Cuban revolution was affecting many people’s lives just like the lives of the three boys and their families. Being not able to have you family united or feel safe was all due to the Cuban revolution. But in the end all this problem was solved by Fidel Castro who made an impact to Cuba as well as him being the president after Bautista was captured in Mexico. As of today Cuba still has many problems they need to fix such as not being able to leave. But after all people feel can feel comfortable being at their house and sending their children to school

QUOTE-"The Revolution is putting together a list of anybody can potentially be dangerous to the Revolution"
QUESTION- Why do they make everything such a big deal why cant they let it go?
Comment: During the revolution many parents were affraid for their kids that would not be safe in Cuba so they sent them away. they didnt even let their kids even go to school thats how dangerous this has been. So automaticly when you do something wrong they will put you on that list. This fusterates me because why cant we all be treated equal and have peace in this world. They think it might be dangerous but its not. why do they have wars wh ycant they just settle it out without fighting. And having the soldiers going house to house checking and looking for poeple. That really is too much you cant even feel safe at your own house because you think something is going to happen. If everyone wasnt having war the world would have peace and poeple wouldnt feel that way. Now lool at Cuba they wont even let them leave.

"Castro's Cuba, 1958-." Study Unit. History Study Center. ProQuest LLC. 12 Feb. 2009 .
This book also has many interesting facts that I have also read in my book. The book that I'm reading has its interesting facts about the Cuban Revolution as well as explaining the lives of three boys and how they deal with it. Instead of having just many facts all at once when its harder for me to understand.
